There are several types of dental models that are commonly used in dentistry.  Here are some of the most common ones:

Diagnostic models: These are used for diagnosis and treatment planning.  They are typically made from gypsum or other materials and can be used to evaluate a patient’s occlusion (bite), tooth alignment, and overall dental health.

Study models: These are used to study the relationship between the teeth, jaws, and other oral structures.  They are often used in orthodontics to plan treatment and track progress.

Working models: These are used to create dental appliances such as dentures, bridges, and orthodontic appliances.  They are made from materials that can be easily manipulated and are often used in dental labs.

Removable appliance models: These are used to make removable dental appliances such as retainers and mouthguards.  They are often made from thermoplastics that can be molded to fit a patient’s mouth.

 Implant models: These are used to plan and create dental implants.  They are often made from 3D-printed materials that can simulate the patient’s jawbone and other oral structures.
